Why do I have to pay more for my tickets than the price printed on the ticket itself?

Many of our events are sold with a booking fee. There are exceptions such as special offers with discounted prices and some events for which there is no booking fee.

With any product or service, there is a commission or profit margin which is normally hidden from the customer. Airline tickets, for example, may have a price printed on them which includes the commission to the travel agent.

Traditionally, theatre, concert, sport and cinema tickets have always had a booking fee added to the price, rather than a commission included within the price. This situation may change, but in the meantime, it can be very confusing to customers who see one price on the ticket and pay another, higher, price.

We often pay a booking fee to our ticket suppliers and in turn we must charge our own booking fee on top of the price we have paid for the ticket in the same way that any retailer adds a markup to their supplier price.

When a booking fee applies on any of the events available online we have tried to make it as clear as possible by always stating what you will pay first and then stating any original price, eg: tickets are £20.00 including booking fee (original face value of ticket was £15.00).

In cases where no additional fee applies, we simply state the price, eg: tickets £20.00 each. And for special offers, we list both the price we are charging and the regular price, eg tickets are £20.00, (normally sold at £25.00 each).

We have tried to make all pricing information on this site as clear as possible and if you have any doubt at all about what prices are being charged, or if there is some ambiguity we may have overlooked, please do not hesitate to inform us about it.
